Since being accepted
to Virginia Commonwealth University on a music scholarship, Allen
Sleeman studied for 4 years under the instruction of T. Howard
Curtis and Tony Martucci.
Allen performed daily with the Symphonic Wind Ensemble, numerous
Small Jazz Ensembles, and the nationally acclaimed VCU Jazz
Orchestra I who appeared in Down Beat magazine in 2005. Allen
received his bachelors of Jazz Performance in May 2006.
For the past three years Allen has been teaching private lessons
at Richmond Music Center in Richmond, Va. He is currently teaching
6 days a week with almost 60 private students. Allen also
instructs the drumline at Hanover High School, as well as teaching
there privately.
